Want to Grow Your Hair Longer the Easy Way?

It's that point in our world where every woman that has long hair is thought of as elegant. You don't even have to see her face to know that she's beautiful. Whether you have blonde, black, brown, or red hair, you can look even more beautiful just by growing your hair out. Some girls do tend to struggle with growing their hair out. Some girls have extremely thick, wavy hair that just doesn't want to grow into that long, silky mane that they've always dreamed of. Well, no matter what hair texture or style that you have, here are some great tips on growing your hair faster, the healthy way.

First of, women need to realize the danger of high-sulfated shampoos. Most of them dry out your hair and eventual breaks your hair, giving you unnecessary splits. Common harsh sulfates include:

Ammonium Laureth Sulfate
Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate
TEA Laureth Sulfate
TEA Lauryl Sulfate
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate

These types of harsh shampoos should be used for clarifying only. A clarifying shampoo should be used once monthly. This will allow for more effective penetration of your hair treatments. The following sulfates are gentle and will not damage your hair:

Polyoxethylene Fatty Alcohols
PEG 80
Sorbitan Laurate
Decyl Polyglucose
Cocamidoprpyl Betaine
Sodium Myreth Sulfate
Sodium Laureth Sulfate

I understand that it's almost impossible to find healthy shampoos in our day that don't contain these nasty chemicals and sulfates. But here I will give you a couple shampoo examples from Ulta that aren't too pricey.

Next, you need to understand that your hair is about 88% protein. These proteins are of a hard fibrous type called keratin. When you chemically straighten your hair, these bonds are broken. If these proteins are not replaced, it will cause your hair to become dry and coarse, and will eventually break. Egg treatments, especially for darker hair, is a great solution to this problem. If you already have breakage, eggs will stop the breakage immediately. But it's also important that this protein treatment be done only every other week. All you do is beat an uncooked egg in a bowl, then apply it to your damp hair. Then leave it up in a shower cap for thirty minutes to an hour. You won't see any breakage or dryness in your hair after the treatment is over.

It's also important to do a moisture treatment after an egg treatment. A great moisture treatment is Essentious Rejuvenate. (http://www.essentious.com/hair-care-products.htm )

Vitamins are vital to healthy hair growth, just as it's essential to overall good health. Although your body needs a variety of vitamins and minerals to maintain proper body functions, there are several that are specific to hair growth and health. When starting a new vitamin regime, it usually takes from 2 to 3 months to see results in your hair's condition. That means that patience and consistency is very important.

Vitamin A - Antioxidant that helps produce healthy sebum in the scalp. Food sources: Fish liver oil, meat, milk, cheese, eggs, spinach, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, apricots and peaches.

Vitamin C - Antioxidant that helps maintain skin & hair health. Food sources: Citrus fruits, strawberries, kiwi, cantaloupe, pineapple, tomatoes, green peppers, potatoes and dark green vegetables.

Vitamin E - Antioxidant that enhances scalp circulation. Food sources: Cold-pressed vegetable oils, wheat germ oil, soybeans, raw seeds and nuts, dried beans, and leafy green vegetables.

Biotin - Helps produce keratin, may prevent graying and hair loss. Food sources: Brewer's yeast, whole grains, egg yolks, liver, rice and milk.

Niacin (Vitamin B3) - Promotes scalp circulation. Food sources: Brewer's yeast, wheat germ, fish, chicken, turkey and meat.

Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5) - Prevents graying and hair loss. Food sources: Whole grain cereals, brewer's yeast, organ meats and egg yolks.

Vitamin B6 - Prevents hair loss, helps create melanin, which gives hair its color. Food sources: Brewer's yeast, liver, whole grain cereals, vegetables, organ meats and egg yolk.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS use a wide tooth comb after the shower! This is so dramatically important. If you use a brush or a small tooth comb, it will break your hair.

Use satin pillow cases over polyester or cotton. Cotton can absorb much needed moisture from your hair. Satin doesn't have this affect.

It's a good idea to limit your heat-using hair-styling to once a week. But you can only do this while your trying to let your hair grow. The heat can and will burn your hair and break it, making it look dry and strawly.

So after reading all this, just keep in mind three basic steps to get the beautiful hair you've always wanted:

STOP HAIR BREAKAGE
INCREASE ANAGEN PHASE
ADDRESS ANY OTHER PROBLEMS THAT CAN LIMIT GROWTH

I hope you enjoyed this blog, and I hope you take on this journey of growing hair out with me!
